Move newsletters etc. with a filter to local Mac folders
I receive a huge number of newsletters every day and would love it if I could simply have all of them filter into local folders and be automatically deleted from the imap accounts. My imap mailboxes fill up with newsletters and ads, and this would not only allow me to have them separated but would also keep the archive smaller.

The option to export a list of emails that triggered an error
Give the user the option to create a list of emails that have thrown an error either during the backup process or a migration process.
I'm currently migrating a mailbox to google and one constant problem is that certain emails are just too big for gmail to accept. I've run the migration with 'ignore errors' a couple of times to be sure that everything that should go up has gone up, but it would be great if I could hand the client a list of emails that they have not had migrated to the new server. Right now I have…

Have an option for more frequent backups.
I use Time Machine and Carbon Copy Cloner, both of which are set for hourly backups, and Backblaze, which backs up "continuously." Options for more frequent Horcrux backups would give added security.

Option to map the folders when migrating IMAP accounts
Not all inboxes follow the same structure, therefor it would be useful to be able to map the folders on the original email account to the destination email account folders.

Don't download images by default in email browser
For privacy concerns, we need an option to download images explicitly, not by default.

Option to search specific mails in all snapshots
I use daily snapshosts for my four IMAP-accounts and delete the trash and spam-folders of each of these accounts on a monthly basis. Now sometimes I need a mail from the trash, but I already deleted it from my server. Now, if I don't remember the exact date, I have to go through every snapshot by hand, which is not very resourceful. So a snapshot-wide search for at least the most important information (subject, from, to) would be greatly appreciated.

Deailing with large inboxes on Gmail
I am backing up from a Gmail account with approx. 30,000 messages. It takes years to process stuff — and there is no indication what Horcrux is doing.... Is it still working? If it is cancelled or if it crashes — will it backup mails twice?
Gmail has an IMAP access policy which may make it impossible to backup a larger mailbox in one go. There should be an option to limit the daily consumption, so it does not interfere with the regular operation with other IMAP-clients.

Add an option to encrypt backups
It would be great to have the backups encrypted and possibly protected by a password when trying to restore/browse.

Offer a small build-in IMAP-Server
It would be cool if one could start a small build-in IMAP-Server,
so one could connect to it with one's favourite eMail-client and
browse the mails of a given snapshot. They build-in browers is okay,
but not too fancy...5 votes -
Add ability to save info about accounts for migration.
When doing migrations, it would be nice to be able to save the account information - maybe having a way to select "backup" accounts without needing to invoke the backup download of data to the local machine would be good.

Implement CRAM-MD5 authentication
I have turned on CRAM-MD5 authentication on my Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server. Horcrux currently cannot log into my server, because it requires CRAM-MD5 authentication.

Offer the ability to remove email that is nnnn days old once it's backed up
This would allow your software to backup an email, and eventually remove it from the IMAP server, thus cleaning out old emails and letting the IMAP server function better (eg. quicker responding IMAP client).

Add an option where you can pick the time of day to start the backups. Also allow a company to purchase a shared license.
Make an option where you can select the time of day to initiate the backups. This way the backup can start after hours, before operating hours, etc. Also if you could create a single company license would be good for multiple computers rather than having to purchase numerous individual licenses.
