I know it’s a bit of a late reply. We have this feature since about 3-4 months now. Let me know if you had a chance to check it out.

A way to connect to a backup of a discontinued account.
I have a backup of an old account. Now I need to move to another Mac. I can't connect to the backup of my old account with a fresh install of horcrux on my new Mac since it needs network connection not only to the backup but also to a working imap account... ?
6 votesHey,
It has been implemented in the new version 4.1.1 as “Offline Backups”.

App seems to log all email to system.log?
It looks like in the console that the app is logging everything to the system.log as well. Probably not good.

add run script option before and after backup
It would be good to be able to run a custom script before and after the backup runs.
For examples I would like to be able to backup to a networked location, so it would be good to run a script to mount that location, backup and then unmount.3 votesHey Matt,
I’m just clearing the the idea list. The feature was completed a long time ago.

Menu bar icon not working ok
The menu bar icon is really not working well.
There is different kinds of flashing (quick and slow) bit there is not explanation what it means. I don't even know if this is intentionally. Also it often flashes when Horcrux is idle which is probably not by design. And in general I think you really should make a real icon for that. The H doesn't look good and doesn't display it's current status very well.

add a name for accounts.
Thank you for this neat and helpful piece of software!
I would really like to give my several accounts names so the settings lists and message center messages read a bit nice – instead of:
"A backup has been completed for m123bc45 at w678xy.example.com."
it would then read:
"A backup has been completed for Work mail account."
Thank you again and best regards

Add an option to restore timestamps on mail.
Right now all recovered mail seems to have been received at the time of the recovery, and not at the actual time/date received.

Allow to change where the backup emails are stored.
Since this is a backup program, people probably don't want to store the backups on a primary drive. Allowing to change where backups are stored would be useful.

Bug: Horcrux uses up to 400% of CPU.
I have fully up-to-date system software and a very fast machine. Despite this, Horcrux is almost always running at 100-200% CPU and sometimes as much as 400%, making the machine unnecessarily hot. Apart from the obvious fact that it should not run above 100%, I would also prefer such a background process to run closer to 30%.

Need to be able to disable an account without losing the backups
Currently the only way to stop a configured account from backing up is to delete the account configuration. But then you lose the ability to browse the backup (it is lost?). There must be an option to remove an account from the list of scheduled backups, without losing existing backups for that account.

let enter source IMAP settings only once
and we can just select the correct IMAP settings from a dropdown when adding new email accounts.
